Future of Event Management Industry after COVID-19

One can plan a foolproof strategy but cannot do away with the dash of unpredictability from life. The ongoing coronavirus crisis has made us realize the same. The derailing of almost all industries has contributed to the rapid plunge in the world economy. The event management industry which deals with personal or corporate public gatherings events has seen a downfall given the social distancing and other safety norms for coronavirus disease. So far what we can observe is that the post-covid era is going to be more evolved from a digital front because “the show must go on!”

Virtual – the new normal

There are two basic components the event management industry is recognized for. First, of course, is the management of events and second is the entertainment. Adapting the virtual route for event management is not that hard but keeping alive all the elements of normal event management is where creativity is demanded. The first and foremost part of the inventive strategy is to keep a check on Covid-19 protocols and other safety requirements.

What lies ahead?

The small gathering with important people as per the norms of the government is an immediate & general solution to eliminate the grand scale covid-19 party problem. Broadcasting the function to the other virtual invitees is where the work needs to be done so that people can register their virtual presence. When it comes to feast, seated dining is an ideal choice compared to the self-serving buffets. The basic hygienic protocols of sanitization and hand washing need to be incorporated in all events. When it comes to adapt a change it cannot be spontaneous. Slowly and gradually it becomes part of our daily routine. The same philosophy applies to the event management industry as well. With the advancement in Artificial Intelligence and the Internet of Things, the days are not so far when robots will be hired for welcoming people and serving food in public functions.
